Ten Hag’s sacking is imminent.. Who will save Manchester United from hell?

The countdown has begun for the days of Dutch coach Erik Ten Hag at Manchester United, after his club’s management was about to oust him, if the poor results continue at various levels.

Manchester United suffered its third defeat in the English Premier League this season, in just 6 rounds, by falling at its home stadium “Old Trafford” at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur (0-3).

According to reports, the United management postponed deciding on Ten Hag’s fate until the team finishes its last two matches, before the next international break, as it will face Porto of Portugal in the European League, then Aston Villa in the Premier League, next Thursday and Sunday.

A disastrous record

Ten Hag did not live up to the expectations of British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe, who renewed his confidence in him before the start of the season by extending his contract for an additional year, despite the doubts surrounding him after finishing last season in eighth place, the worst in the history of the Red Devils in the Premier League.

United achieved disastrous results and records under Ten Hag, especially in recent months, which is evident in the last 20 matches at least.

Ten Hag’s men only achieved 7 victories in the last 20 matches in various tournaments, achieved at the expense of Sheffield United, Newcastle, Brighton, Manchester City, Fulham, Southampton and Barnsley.

Besides that, Manchester United suffered defeat in 6 matches, while they came out with a draw in 7 others, including two draws that sent them to penalty kicks in the FA Cup and the Charity Shield.

United’s disastrous results did not stop at the last 20 matches, but the team collapsed in other areas since the Dutch coach arrived at the Theater of Dreams in the summer of 2022.

For example, Ten Hag has the worst record since Alex Ferguson retired in 2013, in terms of goals conceded.

Man Joined together conceded 3 or more objectives in 23 matches he played beneath Ten hag’s, out of 123 matches in different competitions.

This disastrous record was not achieved under the rest of the previous coaches, who took turns training the Red Devils since Ferguson left the club 11 years ago, which confirms how bad United has become in the last two and a half years.

Who will save United?

Manchester United’s management is still hesitating to dismiss Ten Hag, especially since the cost of ousting him amounts to about 17.5 million pounds, which is the value of his remaining paiment up to the end of his contract in the summer of 2026..

But the question that remains is (who will take over the team’s training mission after Ten Hag if he is dismissed?), and here some names that have been put forward in the media recently appear.

First, the management may return to the option of contracting with the German Thomas Tuchel, as it thought at the end of last season, but the two parties were unable to reach an agreement that satisfied them, so it moved to keep Ten Hag after the negotiations failed.

Tuchel’s name remains on the table until this moment, especially since he is not yet associated with any other job, as is the case with other coaches, led by the Englishman Gareth Southgate.

The English media began linking the former England national team coach to Manchester United, since his departure from the Three Lions last summer.

This is in addition to the Italian Massimiliano Allegri, the former Juventus coach, who is also not associated with any job, as is the case with the Englishman Graham Potter, the former Brighton and Chelsea coach.
